About

I have been working with families in Maine for 29 years. In that time I have spent thousands of hours talking with parents in their living rooms or around their kitchen tables helping them to understand their children’s behavior and to develop relationships with their children that reduce or eliminate the distress that so easily invades parent-child interactions.

My understanding of children is based on 39 years of work with children and families. I have a Masters degree in Child Development from the Eliot-Pearson School of Child Study and Human Development at Tufts University. For the past 13 years I have worked as a Child Development Consultant in public schools where I have focused on helping teachers to understand the emotional and developmental needs of the children in their care. I have provided training and support to preschool and Headstart sites in Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire and Pennsylvania and have made presentations at conferences throughout Northern New England.
